 For my first edit i just added the shots over the top of the backing track. After getting feedback people said i should cut up the shots and add transitions.

 I then cut up the shots and added other audio clips and transitions. After more feedback people said i should create a vhs overlay and give the audio an effect to make it sound like it is coming through an old radio.

For my final edit i added Animated titles, More transitions, Audio effects, and Visual effects. These all gave my documentary the feel I wanted all along.
